On 06 November DORS visited Halfspace - an AI Company, part of Accenture, for a session on how OR is evolving in a world shaped by AI.
Halfspace founder Claus Bek Nielsen welcomed everyone and told the story of Halfspace.
Mathias Rønnow Jørgensen, Lead Engagement Manager, Data Science, PhD in Quantum Physics, took the audience on a trip into the future of Operations Research and how new technologies are reshaping the discipline and its impact on business.
Simon Cloetta Kristiansen, co-founder, PhD in Operations Research, then shared the story behind our Franz Edelman Award work with Molslinjen and offered a behind the scenes perspective on what it actually takes to reach that level of recognition.
Fabio Moret, Staff Data Scientist, PhD in Sustainable Engineering, took us into the world of logistics and supply chain, showing how OR continues to unlock real, measurable value in complex networks.
Marieke van Beest, Senior Data Scientist, PhD in Mathematical Physics, rounded things off with a deep dive into high frequency decision making in adtech and martech, where thousands of decisions per second meet smart optimisation.
At its core, the day was about connecting business professionals through Operations Research in a Halfspace context, bridging academic insight, industry practice and real world impact.
A big thank you to Halfspace and their team for being a great host, delivering insightful talks, and plenty of discussions and networking!
